Method of shipment
Peach Transitions can primarily offer two shipping methods depending on your needs: roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) and containerised.
We utilise container and RoRo ports at most international shipping ports to offer an extensive global service. Our wealth of knowledge allows us to navigate through common routes and shipments to some of the most difficult ones. We are proud to offer a fully customisable service tailored to your needs and tackle any challenge when possible.
Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo)
Roll-on/roll-off, or “RoRo,” is (typically) an affordable and time-efficient way to ship vehicles internationally. Both new and used cars are predominantly transported across the world via this method. The vehicles are quite literally driven onto (roll-on) and driven off (roll-off) the specialised vessels. The vessel itself is structured similar to an underground carpark with multiple stories of vehicles tightly strapped in position.
The majority of RoRo shipping lines do not accept personal belongings or cargo inside the vehicle. We have a step-by-step breakdown on preparing your vehicle for RoRo shipping. Get in touch to find out more.
Roll-on/Roll-off is the most common method for shipping vehicles in most cases because of affordability and speed. However, this shipping method doesn’t account for any other cargo such as household goods. That is where container shipping comes in.
Container Shipping
Container shipping is the most popular way of transferring goods across the world in a cost-effective way. Of course, it takes much longer than air freight but it is significantly less expensive.
However, container shipping isn’t solely for shipping goods and household items. You can also ship your vehicle via the container option. It is more generally more expensive than RoRo but it does have its own benefits.
Container shipping offers an added layer of security in knowing that your cargo won’t be handled for the duration of the trip. People moving their family car via container can also opt to pack some household items inside the container.
All personal items must be accounted for, and any boxes must be clearly labeled. This is typically required by Customs to ensure everything is accounted for during quarantine inspection.
Shipping via container is common for people shipping rare classic vehicles or moving country with personal belongings. This enables you to load anything from spare parts to a motorcycle to boxes of your personal items.
